Hello.
It is Saturday. It snowed/ sleeted yesterday for a total of 2" of ice.
That is on top of piles of snow and a foot of snow in the yard still.
We are prepping for a blizzard Sunday night into Monday.
Two feet of snow possible and 55 mile per hour winds.
Today we are moving snow as best as we can to make room for
the snow coming. It is frozen solid out there so I am waiting to chip out the
chicken pen and water pump until the temps rise a bit.
Winter is not slowing down just yet.
I have this attitude now of *if He brings you to it, He will bring you through it*
despite my longing for a few 50 degree days.
They will come.
... and I will sit out in them and be at peace.
I have heard many more song birds recently.
That brings me the small bit of hope that I need.
I am not sure if I ever posted about this at the time.
It was so busy back in 2019.
I Wass offered a few opportunities that would forever change my life.
It was a pretty awesome time.
So many projects and so much promise.
During this busy time I self published an Herb Shed book.
Though the projects never happened...covid did which ended all of that-
I still have the books.
I just found one and I do believe I have a box of them elsewhere.
It was a small slice into my blog back in the day.
Perhaps one day I will publish another one.
It was interesting to me, that I had forgotten it all together because
so much has happened since.
The falls are also frozen. I took a walk by yesterday and saw one lone duck just hanging out.
I do worry about them as we have bald eagles this time of the year.
The other ducks and geese hang out under the bridge at night .
It is beautiful.
I have to remind myself of that.
The beauty of the season I am in .
I make my own happiness and I make my own hell.
I choose happiness today and the promise that in just a few weeks that waterfall
will be greening up and the ice gone.
I feel like this is a great time to bring this favorite recipe out again.
After all, we will be shovelling a lot in the days to come.
Cookies just may make up for it... knowing they are waiting for us inside!
Klaus and Kringle wish all of you a wonderful weekend.
Whatever you are doing, may it bring you peace and joy.
Blessings,
Raven
