| The Bald Eagles flying over the property every few days take my breath away. |
Hello.
I have been spending the days cleaning out corners and really
giving my home and possessions a sifting through.
Call it early Spring cleaning.
I wake up early, eager to get on with the day despite cedar fever symptoms
( itchy eyes etc...)
In a month it will be Spring ( on the calendar at least) and though
I do enjoy all seasons I am in, the ability to fully open a frozen gate
or not slip on water covered ice will be wonderful!
I am enjoying these days where I have prioritised my family
and my time.
New routines bring about new results.
My goal is to always be the best I can be.
Some of my time has been spent on the local level.
I have been helping to fight a massive development that is so
out of touch with this beautiful area of the state.
It is awful that people find land on the internet , fly planes overhead without
stepping into the town and propose a project that would upset the area
for humans and animals.
It is so disgusting.
This is one of the graphics I made to go along with my letter presented to the board.
The thing is, even if they allowed this to happen, our taxes never decrease.
The extra load on the community is harsh & more will come.
It already has.
A recent approved project had some townspeople for it.
I could see why, it made their lives better in some way- I get it.
But come to find out it was already a part of this bigger project in the same area- used to fuel the
many tractor trailers that will be coming through every day.
Not at all for the people.
For the $$$$$ behind this forever changing the town project.
But this specific area has been pristine land for centuries with a pine forest and aquifer
involved. Believe me, there are abandoned industrial sites all over this town' that they could use
for this almost million square foot monstrosity.
Not here.
The animals above are just a few of the plants and creatures affected.
Anyway.... I hope and pray we get this stopped.
One of may secret passions has been advocating for those who can not speak
for themselves... the wild animals and the trees & plants.
What we as humans allow to happen should be criminal .
To think, even this small space holds it's own ecosystem:
I just heard on the local radio that we are expecting a bit of weather tonight again
and perhaps over the weekend.
I get it... Father Winter is not done breathing his icy breath.
It is a reminder to me to stay in the day and just handle all the things
as gracefully as I can- frozen gates & all!
May you all have a wonderful Thursday.
Blessings,
Raven
xoxo
