Refining on a Friday.

Good Morning!

Thank you for the emails from my last posting.

I am happy to have thoughtful followers who are willing to add

to my ideas and have constructive conversations.

I learn so much from you all!

*************

It is a dappled with cloud skyline as I look over the river this early morning hour.

The geese just flew down from their sleep spot up the river -

I can hear them as I make breakfast.

I can also hear the songbirds.... so many of them!

The cozy winter is fading.... here comes the warm winds of springtime

spreading over the cold earth.

This has been my cozy space for well over a month now.

Time to migrate outdoors!

************

This was a busy week.

Spring cleaning was interspersed with a new routine....

My Springtime moves towards  increased movement and spending more time outside.

Inside I replaced my winter flannel sheets with new linen ones to keep us cool.

I highly recommend these Piglet sheets.

They last years & years and get comfier with each use.

However, I recently found a dupe online:

They are not the same weave or weight, they are lighter overall but I use them on

the other guest beds in the house and they are a pretty good dupe for the real thing..

( at a fraction of the cost)

My new routine has me changing up my diet....

I still eat organic locally sourced ( as I can) nutrient dense foods:

Proteins

Veggies / Fruits

Raw dairy & cheeses

But I cut drastically carbs when I am not in Ketosis.

Meaning there are times when I can have them and times when I cannot

and working with Dr. Hunt I know my windows now.

I also do one HIIT a day and move.

That is all.

Movement can be biking, walking, hiking the property

or vacuuming 3 floors on the same day! LOL!

I do some light weights as well.

Spring wants me to move, it is a time where I come off of the cozy

couch and into the outdoors, chasing the light.

One thing I still use 3-4x week is my Ballerina Farms

Protein Powder. It has colostrum which I started to take

after I injured my knees and broke a rib.

The sugars are supported in my health plan and are found in natural sources

like Stevia plant.

This does not spike my insulin levels either.

My goals for achieving the best health is still consistent with my initial

goals set years ago.

Products like this, that support my own body to heal and repair

are priceless and a good choice if you are seeking alternatives to

pills and potions.

The healing vibe usually starts when we first remove barriers

that cause our bodies to have to work overtime, stress out and

break down.

Those can be stress ( yep. stress), smoking, Rx, refined foods, GMO foods,

non- organic foods, not moving at all during the day,

caffeine in excess and not adhering to a natural sleep schedule.

Remove the barriers then you can start adding in other things.

But for me, that is not too much either.

I take one multivitamin liquid with biotin and collagen and

drink magnesium ( all kinds) tea in the evenings.

My healthcare products are simple as well

and I choose things , like my toothpaste that has no added junk in it.

If you look at what I wrote above and if you were ever

a mother, it really is the same parameters that you would place

on a growing child.

Humans at all ages need the same things.

So this is how I approach health at this juncture.

If I am faced with a challenge I will adjust my lifestyle

to support my body in its healing.

( like my knee situation)

Anyhow, for those asking.... that is my jam.

It is about refinement , the ability to simplify while supporting and thriving.

It is Friday!

The end of a long week, so what are you all looking forward to?

I will give you a hint what I am planning....

Some of the seeds I will be setting.

Now, I know, it seems late but for where I live, in this

valley, I have learned not to place anything in the ground until

after Mothers Day. It is a shorter season than where I came from

so I stuff a good amount of growing in when I can.

I have chosen to start most of my seeds in the beds.

( I also have flower corms and roots to set as well)

Some will also be set into large pots.

( Like The Tasha Tudor herbs)

Those melons will be the stars this season.

The Mr. & I ate one from a farmer friend last year and we both decided that

we should try growing them ourselves.

One small issue............

The new flock has laid claim to the gardens.

I was at first happy because they pirated that soil so well...

but then they refused to leave.

I do believe small fencing may have to be installed.

I truly love this and how it gently explains how I view

caring for my body.

It has been this way since I can remember, though stress and fear during illness

( anaphylaxis) and injury often side swiped me , I regained my footing quickly.

Modern medicine has done wonders for fixing us when we get broken.

But it has never addressed or recognised the bodies own ability to heal.

My sinus surgeon just told me that the new interns are now mandated

to have a certain amount of hours studying nutrition.

I am happy and equally happy she knew I would want to know that.

She knows that my mantra is to *stay as organic as possible as possible*

and she has known me now for a pretty long while.

The ability falls on our shoulders until they catch up.

Know your body, know your health history.

Know what is best for you.

For you.

Know that your body desperately wants to return to homeostasis.

Support it as best you can

That is my lesson here on this Friday in my refinement series.

Be gentle in your approach but be ruthless in your standards.

August update:

( My sweet hen who used to lay 3x sized eggs and who prolapsed

last November and almost passed away, only to relapse last month....)

has laid her first egg!

A normal sized, perfectly lovely tan spotted cream egg.

I am so proud of her!

May you all have lovely weekends.

Please, for my praying folks, please update me

on your lives.

How are things going?

Can I do anything more to help?

DM or email me.

xoxo

Raven
