Hello & Good Morning!
A beautiful sunny Saturday morning in the hollow.
The mist over the river as the geese fly up to the waterfall.
This is our property across the road that extends up to the waterfall.
It is easily one of my favorite places here.
Quiet and peaceful.
Mornings here start my day right.
Today we are working on a few projects at the hollow.
A new toilet in the powder room is happening...finally.
We are also starting the tasks of winterising and getting outdoor projects
crossed off of the list.
It was 45* here last night, enough cold to get my butt in gear early this morning
and make that list for buttoning up the coops, checking fences and making
sure that everything is in good working order , like the flat panelled heaters .
Our hand pump is leaking so that has to be addressed before the first freeze.
Funny how we can go from 86* let's just weed the gardens to
this overnight!
Yesterday I received a fairy egg.
I collect them and have almost all of them in a glass jar.
So adorable. If you crack them open most have no yolks.
To me this is normal for fall.
The light diminishes and they start their seasonal moults.
Yet I always feel magical every time I get one.
Is it too soon to start the season of coziness?
Let's see...sweatshirt, coco, apple pie and leaf hike.
I may just make a pie today.
I am also looking to paint the chicken coop
doors and have fallen in love with this color.
I love how the seasons influence me to move into colours that I would
not have given a fig for.
What do you think of this color?
Time to focus on setting a more calm vibe here, settled vibe
in what can be the start of a busy holiday season.
If I do it all now I will have time to enjoy the moments that matter.
Flow.
I flow with it all, attending the list as I can.
That new outlook has done so much to make my days less stress filled.
Fall arrives this week. I am here for it.
Starting the week off with this recipe to pack in the
vikings lunchbox.
I replace vegetable oil with olive oil , use cup4cup gf flour and
I may get extra and add in dried cranberries as I found a ton of them
when cleaning out the pantry.
( btw- maple sugar for me is just light brown with a touch of maple syrup)
Not too far from our town is this sign, I love it and even have it on a sweatshirt!
Sadly it has been retired but it is one of my favorites.
I did find one on Poshmark.
( it is a Kiel James Patrick brand)
Fall can be a glorious time to reclaim your home, your boundaries and even
your life. Find your happiness in moments that connect together.
My flow life is about accepting things as they come and making the best of it.
Kind of like my grandmother would say.
Hummmm,
seems almost everything that our grandparents did was healthier for
our minds and bodies.
Blessings & cozy days,
ππππππππ
xoxo
