Blackout chocolate cake

I feel the Autumn creeping in...

the morning fog over the river and the honking of the migrating

geese remind me the cold mornings are not far behind.

Time to soak in as much sunshine as possible.

Open the windows!

Let that fresh air inside.

Wash floors.

Re-organize

You just never know in New England when

that first burst of freezing cold comes.

I will also get the coops ready.

Seems silly on a 70* day but I would rather do

it now than when my hands are frozen.

Which gets me to thinking that I should go through the

mutten/glove basket and make sure I have

some wearable ( matching) sets.

It is also quite breezy ...

that always tells me that something is happening

weather wise but sometimes in the air,

the energies of people.

It is all kinetic to me... the displacement of energy

HAS to go somewhere.

I prefer to have it dry my quilts and blankets but we have not

moved on my desire for a clothes line...yet.

This morning a the first for a hot beverage.

Ginger, and lemon water.

All spring & summer it has been a cold drink in the morning.

I even drug out the sweaters.

This one is new.

I just had never seen a fair isle with squirrels.

Yesterday was spent with one of my favorite people

and also getting a 50 year old filling replaced.

Not a bad day.

I ran into folks I have not seem in ages.

I loved catching up.

Autumn has got to be the best time the year to do just that...

It is also a huge celebration time.

Birthdays & anniversaries everywhere!

Friday is my vikings birthday.

I will be making his cake.

This cake.
I will be omitting the egg in the frosting because...well
it seems weird.
if you have ever made this like this successfully let me know.

I loved this.

We have always had a sit down supper every night.

It was the one time we all could sit and engage with one another.

Growing up, we would spend hours after Sunday dinner just discussing

everything.

Autumn is a wonderful time to start back to this tradition.

Have a great Wednesday friends.

Bless you all!

Raven
