Monday.
A fresh start.
As we wipe away the sleep from our eyes this new day I am
praying that this time forward will be the start
of a new era.
Not because something awful happened, no.
But because we came together to recognise how wrong we were.
About a lot of things.
And now wish to make it all correct- for us, but mostly for
future generations.
Let healing start here.

Moving forward...
Here, on this blog I will focus upon everyday living from my own perspective.
I live here in New England and love the seasons.
I also love living a rural life, away from suburbia and the
chaos of too many people squeezed into a too small space.
I visit there quite frequently, but that is not the life for me.
Here is not perfect, but it is quiet, with the sounds of the waterfall
as a daily soundtrack to living.
I raise chickens. I am a grandmother and my husband ( viking) and & I
have worked as a team now for 41 years at our business and in life.
Stone Hollow is our place.
If you are interested in our daily life, homespun recipes, and some
mindful thoughts that ease you in the direction of peaceful living,
then this is your space.
Welcome.
This weekend we visited our friends at the local zoo.
I tend to gravitate towards the fallow deer and baby giraffes while the boys
enjoyed the monkey's and turtles.
The zoo has been one of our favorite places to visit.
It is family friendly as well as accommodating to all ages of people.
There is something about being surrounded by the wildlife enclosures and the
animal energy that brings a smile to most peoples faces.
It is a happy place.
I packed us a lunch and we drove the 30 minutes to see our friends.
I like that he thinks they are all our friends now.
I do hope that picnicking is a new trend that sticks. I saw many
family's with lunch baskets.
I made us delicious grilled turkey and apple sandwiches with local cheddar.
Simple.
This recipe below has no meat but brings the spice for sure.
I may add bacon... because why not? 😋
The chips are an unexpected surprise, just grill it up like a standard cheese.
We are entering the season in New England that is all things
cozy and lovely. Roadside stands chock full of apples and pumpkins,
maple syrup and honey. I will always buy mums...whether I remember
to water them is another thing! You can spend a whole day just traveling back
roads, past farms and old homesteads without ever hitting a main road.
I love that.
I celebrate the season bringing in as much of the outside as I can,
collecting acorns and drying flowers....
I started watching my dvd's of Gilmore Girls again.
It debuted September of 2002 , when the world was a bit more innocent
and we appreciated charm and wit, nuance and relationships.
And whoever not?
Choosing anything that hits your soul in just the right way
is a fine way to build a happy life.
