Easy Scalloped Potatoes...perfect for a rainy weekend.

Happy Friday!

I finally got inside after being out all morning

running errands and tending to the chickens.

Last evening the Viking & I had a

relaxing supper at our new favourite cafe'.

I adore it. It is small and out of the way in a good way.

I met the chef who promised not to kill me a few weeks back.

And he has not.... :) The food is simple & wholesome but also

perfect in every way. But the people... the place sits maybe 10

tables, we sit at the bar and I love it.

I have met some interesting people at that bar.

And just look at me... with a fancy drink & all!

{ tonic water, OJ and every fruit in the bar }

Having structure is important in life.

But so is moving outside of your comfort zone.

Lots of that happening in my life this year and I am here for it.

Also.... it snowed a bit last night.

Okay... that is enough of that! LOL!

It was so cold, but with a touch of sunshine today it melted

and now it is clouding up for a weekend of rain.

I have a few more inside projects to get to so

I will use it for the good, but as soon as that big old sun ball

shows his face I will be out there in it....

The gardens near the chickens will be getting an upgrade

as well as as the yard itself.

I can not wait to show it to you!

I have been noticing more and more folks becoming unhinged .

I imagine that it is likely the result of what they are digesting

through their eyes, ears, mouth and brain every day.

What you feed yourself is important.

This list brought me to think upon what it

takes to redirect an unhealthy mindset to ensure a positive

growth towards a peaceful & happy life.

For me, this list is pretty spot on.

Let us take gratitude....

It is one of my favorites because the world is so about

having more or perfection. Being grateful for the life that

has been given to us, despite some things that always do not go our way

is a wonderful way to look at life - count those blessings.

Finding healthy relationships, well this one is a bit harder to

implement. Everyone is labeled, everyone has to figure you out and

if they can not they will place you into a box with a label they sure as heck think fits.

It it exhausting.

However, if you find someone who speaks to you in a personal

way that is a good chance they have friends who also do as well.

I have found a few golden nuggets whose friends and family

are just as amazing as they are.

God has put people on this earth who are your people.

Folks who you can be comfortable relaxing

with and who honestly like you.

You do not have to agree on everything to find

your people- in fact I love learning new things from

those I may have differences with.

Be kind to all, but keep your dear friends close.

Creating a positive online environment is as easy as

tweaking your news feed. I do it quarterly or more often

if needed. I find new events and interests and make them

the focus of what I see every day.

Think of your online like you would the front door of your home .

You may like to sit on the porch and watch but it is a far different

story who you let inside.

Be discerning.

As the days get longer you can find me outside until every speck of light

is gone. So I tend to prep supper beforehand so all I need to do is

come in, wash up and spoon it out.

Is this recipe for Scalloped Potatoes not darling?

Written by a 9 year old it is as simple as it gets.

Thank you Evelyn!

This and a bit of protein & salad is a solid supper in my book!

Have a blessed Friday friends!

xoxo

Raven
