First real day of Spring!

G O O D  M O R N I N G !

Ask me how much I loved yesterday... go on!

A true 2fer day!

Meaning: I get to cram 2 days worth of living out of one day.

( it was also the days where I could get 2 runs in...)

Now...

I wake at 5 to my dear bird singing in the magnolia tree

right outside my bedroom window.

The day starts cool but quickly warms.

I am in my element : cleaning and tending the chickens,

watching them spend  the day in the grass and gardens

as I start my gardening.

A quick trip to the farms to  grab our

dairy & meat order for the week where I catch up with

friends, off to the local hardware store to pick out

plants: organic rainbow beets, spinach and some annual

herbs: chamomile and parsley.

( and some interesting canned items)

More time outside, more time to walk the property before

cleaning out the deep freezer after a long winter.

Not a lot of freezer burn which is rare after a long winter.

Springtime baths for the boys... they actually loved it.

Time for supper, so I whip up burgers and homemade Mac & cheese.

Back outside where we stayed until bedtime eating skyr parfaits

while talking about our days on the patio with the frog whirrrrring

and the peepers peeping.

The best part????

TWO tremendous thunderstorms during the night!

Glorious lighting that illuminated outside.

I then slept deeply, drifting off to the town I visit in my dreams.

Until I awoke to my sweet bird again.

Ahhhhh...

I adore Springtime!

The foggy mornings, the birdsong , the frogs and the blooming everything !

Okay recipe time!

Here is the recipe for my grams Lebanese cabbage salad.

Perfect for springtime suppers or to bring to picnics.

Add grilled shrimp or chicken for a light supper.

( or a can of tuna like mommy did )

Have a lovely day!

xoxo
