Good Morning.
It has been a busy time for us.
How about you all?
I love it.
August slipped in here so quietly.
But this mornings temps (50*) reminds me
that the cooler weather is not long off.
Days are getting shorter so I am out there in it as much as I can be.
The animals are changing patterns again... the woodpeckers and crows have
taken over the trees from the ravens and swallows. The geese are honking in
the evenings, something they start to do regularly right before they move to
their winter home. Last year we had a few that stayed all year...Lucy, of
course and now that she is a mom... will they migrate or stay?
I have 2 baby ground hogs that greet me with the bunny every morning
when I tend the chickens. A bobcat was seen in the area, yet the bear will not come
through again until the middle of September.Mr. Heron has been making our back
pond his drive through early in the morning...LOL. He is so majestic , I love him.
Not so much the Mr. - he ate all of his koi fish in the beginning and still holds a grudge.
Molting has started . Poor Flour is everywhere in the coops. But that just means that she will have
a fresh new coat come this winter. We are moving along on a project that started 3 years ago here.
It is structural in nature and I will post when completed, but I am excited to have it completed.
We serviced the dishwasher, dryer, septic ( maintenance) , internet and dish recently as well.
The work here never ends but we love it and the opportunity to save this old property.
How about those wildfires? I have never in my lifetime remember so many.
The air quality can sometimes make it hard to breathe.
Last evenings cool, clear temps made opening the windows refreshing.
We added another hive.
Seems the bees have been busy!
Despite the bear incident they are thriving.
Stone Hollow has had its visitors, from a woman who grew up here and wanted to see
it one more time before she went back home to weekend over nighters to day visitors
who I adore seeing yet I feel they come to visit the property as well.
No matter how many times they have been here they want to walk it.
I love that. I love that people respect what the Mr. has done with preserving it.
August is full of visiting folks.

The knee is healing ...slowly, but healing.
It is all about resting, yet my body & mind do not like to rest.
So I tend to re- injure it over & over until it heals.
