July is for freedom, bravery & growth

Good Morning!

yes, it is July 2nd.

I did miss posting on the 1st.

Life happens .

But also, as I posted recently, I am creating a new pace for my days.

Today I start on my way to implementing one of the last

components to better health for myself.

It is nothing earth shattering, just s gentle shift into a new rhythm .

I am using this month in my Slow Summer season to recalibrate

the rest of my year.

Slow & steady wins the race...or for me sustains good health.

Growing slowly wild.

Remembering who we truly are.

Unlearning so many unhealthy patterns.

We all have the ability to decide one day that that is THE day to change.

The ability to filter out or weed through what no longer is healthy.

On that note: we have been fed so many thing that pertain to

*healing* ourselves over the past 20 years but specifically the past 5 that

are just garbage. Not just garbage but they set back our growth

and damaged our families and friendships.

Follow ing the current trends and narratives will

ultimately find you twisted in your rational

thinking that you lose who you truly are.

There are tons of snake oil salesmen with fancy websites, neat new words,

usually promoting themselves who come upon the scene

to help you with whatever issues you are dealing with.

Some even spout degrees and awards....

But if you truly listen with a discerning ear you may find

something about them does not sit well.

They base their notions of healing for others from their own

deeply wounded places.

Or it feels shallow and empty...

What you feel intuitively within your soul is your

gauge in life on how to navigate.

It is specific to you.

And though I see them for what they are and move along, I find

a lesson in them.

The lesson is : Trust my own intuition.

God did not put it there for nothing.

So here we are, a few weeks into Summer, into my month of

Freedom & in a way...Bravery with a developing mindset that

in Fall will strengthen the bonds of family, faith and friendships

in my life.

Are you feeling the shift?

The stepping out from what was the unknown after everything seemed

to change to a fresh new life?

If you are...even if you are still confronted with intense situations

or unhealed moments.... these few weeks of Summer are  for you.

I am here to support you as I move along myself...not from

anything one thing but TO the life God wants for me.

*********

Now, I will talk of food as I always have but with a new perspective.

Eating the food that is *healthy* is different for everyone dependent upon

your specific metrics ....

But the building blocks of all our new cells starts with what we eat.

For me, the cleanliness of what I am eating is important.

No, not washing fruits so much as knowing what it has been exposed to

during its process. Clean foods.

Then of course I look for non wheat foods ( I am allergic) but foods that are

minimally processed, local and seasonal.

I will get into why I believe that is important in another post.

Right now I am also eating what my body responds to best.

Foods from my childhood.

And I do not freak out if I have the ice cream or fries.

Moderation is key.

Portion control is key.

Eating when I am hungry and stopping when I am full.

I have stopped using seed oils and prefer olive oil , Gee or tallow instead.

Small changes bring upon wonderful benefits.

This has impacted inflammation in a big way.

And also remember that it is not just what we feed our faces that

matters. What we feed our eyes, ears & soul with on the daily

is ultimately what we become.

July shall be known as my Independence Day.

The month where it all comes together.

Small goals add up.

Fresh new starts.... &  like a blank journal, I am excited to see how it fills up.

Welcome July!

Though I am a day late I welcome your opportunity to

create new wonderful joys and moments of achievements

for which I will grow from.

 Not a recipe.....

But something I love to have for lunch:

Cheese

( I use raw if I can find it or cream cheese, farmers cheese)

Local fruit and honey on one side

Local seasonal veggies on the other with a sprinkle of salt or everything bagel seasoning.

(or elderberry flowers : ). )

YUM!

It is in  the quality of the foods you eat, the stories you read, the folks you

interact with that sculpt your days.

I hope that you all have a wonderful

Wednesday!

xoxo

( again because I really mean it! )
