Well, that sweet groundhog just wants us to snuggle under
the blankets a few more weeks.
6 weeks to be exact.
I am okay with that.
Just enough time to kick back into gear my health focus.
In 6 weeks I will be ready for the warmth and the sunshine
and my shorts!
LOL!

When I think about health I rarely have written about how much
your nervous system guides your days.
How , if disregulated, it can really make everything seem
awful, rushed, overwhelming and just plain terrible.
If I had to say, I do believe we all have a bit of a dis-regulated
nervous system. Life... living life in this system of
ups and downs, stresses and daily irritations can certainly throw
off a once well regulated body.
The best thing I focused upon last year was that.
Toning down the rhetoric, unplugging and sifting through
everything that demanded my attention but screamed at me
at the same time.
I had no idea how bad it was until it was no longer there.
Even the transition period was rough...my mind was used to
T.V., radio, slamming doors, telephones, dogs barking....
the quiet was painful at times.
Then I noticed that I was sleeping better, making healthier choices,
seeking out well regulated people to be with.
I was just calmer, more relaxed and at peace with life.
It was a game changer.
Big Tip:
Regulate your nervous system.
That is my advice.
Once you do, you will be able to focus, assess, and process
all sorts of information with clarity and grace.
Be it outside information or your own
body, trying to communicate with you.
Try:
Magnesium.
Good restorative sleep.
Not taking on others stresses
{ HUGE}
Sunlight
Nutritious foods
{ for me- local & organic are best & a simple diet
of protein, veggies, raw dairy and fruits }
HIIT movements
( these dice are so cute but more importantly, they allow me to
fit in HIIT anytime I want for a few minutes a day)
I ditched the over cardio (ing) and started walking on my 99$ treadmill and
going up and down my stairs over and over.
Focusing on stretching & movement
Prayer
Intimate gatherings vs parties
Less time in box stores more time shopping local
Outside once a day mandatory
( grounding if it is not 5 degrees out)
Playing with grandchildren
Date night with Viking
Caring for pups and chickens
Deep box breathing
This list could go on & on but the point is to prioritise
those things that bring you peace.
If you do not, the commitments and obligations, work and
family stresses will overtake your days- sending your nervous system
into a tizzy.

This week, the Olympics start!
A big fan of the Olympics since I was small.
This weekend I tried to explain it to my grandson while
showing him videos of my favorite team sports...ice skating,
bobsledding & the weirdest but a favorite of mine- the biathlon.
( you know, where they cross country ski and shoot at targets)
Wonderful to see it through the grands eyes.
๐ Isaabeau Levito
๐ Ilian Malinin
My two favorite ice skaters to watch out for winning the gold.
I can't wait!
Popping pop corn and watching all that I can.

Oh, a couple of towns over we have the sweetest tradition that does not involve
a groundhog but a duck! Sadly she too predicted 6 more weeks of cold too.
But how adorably New England Americana!
Speaking of adorable... I am exhausted from playing outside all weekend
with our grandson. Oh how I loved playing in the snow, throwing snowballs and
being chased by a small blue tractor. Nothing like being out there in single digits
to invigorate oneself.
We had a blast!

Winter is here.
It appears to be hanging in there.
So why not use this time to better ourselves?
Try something new & it may change your world.
Have a wonderful week friends!
