It is a day off.
I just realised that after waking up and making lunches
and acting as if we would have to plow and then the husband
start his day.
A bonus day.
Well it's that time of the year again folks....
when the days are short and the darkness seeps into
the afternoon. The cold, bitter cold and wind settles into
every crack in the house....
Sleep is deep, so deep that the dreamscapes seem like
living another lifetime.
Vitamin D stores are getting smaller.
The holidays are over.
You feel everything & are numb to human interactions.
Your best friends are your pets.
For me, I just want to hide until the first 50 degree day.

| My dear friend Charlene made these for me. Refine. My word of the year and so fitting. Thank you so so much! |
Now just let me lament for a bit... this year feels different.
I feel a shift that signals change.
I have talked about refining my life before.
But a message brought to me during a long dream
has me understanding that the change has already happened.
I need to accept it all and move on.
Sounds cryptic but it is simple common sense.
Move on and adapt.
Refine what is left to be the best of who you are.
2026
God will never lead you to it if he is not by your side through it.
Okay.
###
I have been making myself try new recipes.
I do believe that spices up dull, grey days.
These two are old and classic and I dunno, I just
thought they were simple enough that I could make them in a jiffy.
( because I have no patience for long drawn out procedures now)
The Trefoil cookies I will try GF, I so loved them as a child.
You of course can use any shape cutter and these are great to do with children.
Most of my *fresh* produce is in my freezer.
I will use frozen instead of canned for this one.
Anything that I can throw in the crock pot and leave is a winner
these days.
*no liquid smoke- I will use paprika and a bit of cumin instead
I will leave the veggies as is.
Serve with Gf rolls.
Welcome to your snow day.
Enjoy it how you see fit.
Whether you frolic in the snow or snuggle on the couch,
enjoy your beautiful day.
I am heading out to shovel out the chicken runs.
My cardio.
xoxo
Have a wonderful day !
Blessings,
Raven
xoxo
