Nothing is more beautiful to me than a small community church.
When we were traveling to Maine almost every weekend looking for
antique properties, I saw the most gorgeous, homey small sea side
churches. I wanted to visit every one!
Something about a building that celebrates the light every
weekend with the community as well as meaningful moments in their lives.
Up here, there were many small churches, most are vacant and deteriorating .
Which is sad. I am involved with trying to get part of one saved before they
demolish it. It was integral to the mill community here for centuries .
I will give you all updates when I know them.
For now, it is a dream.

Last night we hosted our 2nd Popcorn party ... a tradition here now.
I also made us a pitcher of lemonade.
No sugar. Our honey. Water. Lemons and an over ripe orange.
My method is to add the honey ( 2T ) to hot water first, then the juice of
6 lemons, 1 orange ( I use over ripe ones so as not to waste), lastly
I will add ( if serving right away) ice and a bit of water.
Otherwise I store the concentrate in the fridge until serving.
Yesterday was a great day for the chickens and the bees.
I spent the day scrubbing the interior walls, washing away the dust of
the long winter. Windows open, fresh curtains in the windows and
nesting boxes....Ahhhh! Spring is here!
I could see clouds of bees going into the hive all day.
Blooming flowers and trees have them busy.
We ended the day walking the property .
Something we do in the warm weather.
One question asked after yesterdays post:
1. Is that your home in the night time photo?
Yes.
It is part of a 20ish acre site on The National Trust For Historic Preservation.
When we acquired it it was in tough shape, but my expert historical
builder ( the viking) did his magic and we have Stone Hollow today!
It was one of the first mill villages in the USA!

If you ever wish to view the property, you know who to ask!
It is all privately owned now. When we first purchased it, it was vacant.
Much damage was caused by trespassers.
The Mr. restored it on all the buildings and the waterfall as well.
It is a labor of love for sure.
It is our job to preserve it for the next generations.
Can you see the Bald Eagle?
We have a few families in the area.
Not just the history but the environment is so important to us both.
We are humbled to be able to care for such a property.

Today will be another beautiful Spring day.
So many festivals are happening, as well as opportunities to do outside work
and fun activities. And dare I say... It is the start of ice cream season?
Yep.
Remember my tip:
Plant a 10 dollar bill in your car for just such emergencies!
LOL!
Enjoy your day friends!
Blessings & Light,
Raven
xoxo
