Thank goodness for this fresh start to the week ahead.
I am a happy Monday girl.
I know, many folks are not and that is also ok, ya know?
Remember when Facebook was new and we would all
share what we loved instead of what we hated?
Well, I am going to do that today.
Random...totally random and in no order...
Things I am about lately.
In addition to fighting the 2 mega warehouses planned
for my area ( not even the whole town, but all projects on my side of this town),
this has been a heart wrenching issue to watch happen.
A lake for so many, including our aquifer being drained needlessly.
These people have been here decades.
I have turned my attention to fighting things that I may actually
have a chance of winning against.
Truth and Justice are huge motivators .
We are just stewards of this slice of earth.
So, yeah...lots of quiet time on research and connecting people.

Now hold up... yes they look weird.
And they are Merrells ( Aka: Dad Brand Shoes)
BUT they are the best shoe for wide feet that are made to
either slip on OR pull up the back for a tighter fit.
I can run in them if I have to.
They used to have a variety of colours : salmon etc...
but they may not be in stock all of the time.
If you try the Merrell site you may even get them cheaper.
100% I love these shoes!
And yes, they zip together if you are a traveler.
This small family run company out of Vermont was recommended
by a friend when I was looking for pure beeswax candles.
I love the light of a glowing candle at night but not the chemicals.
The fact that I am giving my $$$ to a small NE business is the best part.
The Viking loves the sweet smell and they last a long while.
How cute are the chicken ones?
They restock every Friday at 5pm to if you wish to try them
I recommend ordering ASAP.

This is brilliant!
If you are thinking of getting chickens this is the set up that works.
Small and efficient , it is the perfect way to go.
I may just add a greenhouse off of the side of the small coop
next season.
A L L O F T H I S.
I have sheepskins on every surface I sit.
My car, my couches even on my bed.
When I worked in health care back in the day, it is what we would
use on our patients beds for comfort.
But in all reality, it is the most allergy friendly, easiest way to
warm and comfort your home.
Even as rugs, they are so soft.
I usually just throw them out in the snow to clean them brush the snow off.
( weird how it super cleans them )
I have been changing out what I can to make this home
as natural as I can and this was a great step.
I have actually scheduled in AM sunshine , like an Rx in my day.
Nothing is better for you than the vitamin D, circadian rhythm benefits
of that sunshine in your eyes.
Mornings for 10 minutes as I do my HIIIT around the barn.
( Run, jog, walk - working it up over the Spring & Summer)

I am fascinated by all things Italian lately... Pecorino cheese, fashion and
the lovely architecture ...I mean the house in gorgeous BUT look at the roof!

I am not sure if I can pull them off or should have them with chickens.
The artistry is magical!
It is spring and the start of tic season so naturally,
it is time for my tic recipe.
This has worked for years and years & I live in a pine forest.
I also wear pants, socks and long sleeves when in the forest.
Cuff your pants... they tend to get stuck in there.
"Tis the season...
A fresh new salad option.
You can even add grilled meats and a side loaf of crispy bread.
This is on the menu for us this week.

And Finally.....
A few words of wisdom to start your week off.
As time moves forward, I have learned that being quiet, protecting your
peace and not giving a ______ is the way to live free.
This world is right now an open Pandoras box.
You will not gain understanding until the box is closed.
So in the meantime, your life and the lives of your
family are of most importance.
For those like me who are doing what we can in our communities
to fight the creep of corporations and overstepping government ,
it is so important to take a step back and unplug.
I do it many times in a day.
Most of all, know that prayer matters, God is in control
and the human spirit coupled with Mother Nature can overcome
all evil, all strife and all turmoil.
