Good Morning!
I am bleary eyed for sure...
It is 6 (5) o'clock in the am and I am struggling even though
I usually wake up at 5am.
But the chickens are up, the dogs are up, the Viking is sort of up
and my geese are honking for the house to waken.
Time for a cup of lemon & honey tea....
How was your weekends?
I had my phone on airplane mode ( which I have been doing a lot lately)
and enjoyed every moment without even thinking of my phone.
I did get the gramma photos and videos that sustain me but I did not
feel the pull to document every moment or waste time scrolling.
Do any of you do this?
Curious.
My exciting weekend of simplicity and peace started with me
cleaning out under the kitchen sink. Not a glam job but I have not done
it in 4 years. It was time.
Starting my Spring cleaning was an excellent catalyst
to also sift through all the stuff.... the stuff that becomes the cage we exist in.
I have realised recently that I have kept items that no longer serve us.
perhaps they had memories attached to them or maybe I just
could not justify parting with them at the time.
When the urge to purge comes I am all for it!
We then enjoyed an evening meal at a local restaurant.
My go to is the Keto(ish) salad... which is a Cobb with added
avocado, pickles and a rare cheeseburger.
My fancy drink lately has been tonic & O.J. with lemon, lime and
orange.
Since making my health a priority, making restaurant choices has been
easier an easier. This mega salad will last for 2 meals.
I had fasted most of the day before this so I was hungry!
Took a long walk after in the moonlight.....
I fully believe long walks are the glue that holds relationships
together. I have never regretted taking a walk with the Viking ever.
Even after all this time we learn so much about one another.
Life can get really busy for us, this time is magical.
The ice is all but gone from the waterfall.
Just a thin sheet remains.
We still have small piles of ice/snow in the yard,
but I bet they will be gone soon.
Before supper, we popped into one of the local antique shops.
I am still looking for specific pieces for the house and this
was perfect for the library.
Imagine my happiness when I found this Caswell Massey
apothecary store display piece at the local antique shop!
I remember when they were in the local shops back in the day.
When I had the herb shop I loved them.
It should be here Friday.
What else would you do with the *presents* folks toss in the river?
Why yes, you make a chicken planter out of them!
It is actually a dust bather and one of the Wyandotte sisters
laid her claim to it immediately.
It warms up so wonderfully , especially on a windy cold day.
*************************
I found this to be one of those recipes that folks will love or hate.
I am excited to make it for us and may even make it as a potato salad too!
It brings so much promise and joy.
I can not imagine a March where my attitude does not
benefit from. The songbirds, bulbs sprouting....
May your week ahead be filled with the joy
of Springtimes imminent arrival!
Blessings,
Raven
xoxo
